Two medical personnel at the Shalom Hospital in Athi River have been arrested as investigations into a suspected case of negligence at the facility continue.

This is after a video doing rounds on social media showed a woman was left to give birth at the facility’s reception area as nurses watched and enjoyed their tea.

Speaking to KBC on the telephone, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua said those arrested are Edna Nyarangi and Thomas Ndolo.

Nyarangi was serving at the Hospital but is not registered as a nurse by the nursing council.
