Two officers missing after Garissa attack

Two police officers are missing following Hamey Police Camp attack by suspected Al Shabaab terrorists.

Over 50 terrorists attacked the Police patrol Base within Garissa County but the officers managed to repulse them.

The attackers retreated and later returned in a bigger number in a lorry and dropped three bombs into the camp destroying some tents thus forcing the officers to withdraw.

One officer who was injured in the ambush has been airlifted to Nairobi for specialized treatment.

Three were taken to Dadaab hospital with minor injuries.

The operations to pursue the attackers is ongoing.
