Uasin Gishu women benefit from DP’s chicks donation



Deputy President William Ruto has appealed to women and youth to form cooperatives and self-help groups to benefit from national and county governments subsidy loans geared towards empowerment.

Speaking when he met over 4000 women poultry farmers at his home in Sugoi, Uasin-Gishu County, where he gave them 20,400 chicks, the deputy president  said this move will help them aggregate value, boost earnings, ensure daily subsistence and start viable enterprises.

Speaking after receiving the donations, the women expressed their gratitude for the Deputy President and his family for the rare gesture saying it was a perfect Christmas gift for them and their families.
