US doctors to undertake free heart screening for children

A team of US doctors is in the country to undertake free heart screening for children in three countries.

The doctors from the Heart Gift Foundation are in Garissa, Kitui and Meru counties and will help screen children with heart conditions for possible operations.

It is a sign of relief to patients and mothers whose children have been diagnosed with cardiac heart conditions in Garissa, Meru and Kitui.

Already the team has screened 31 children who were diagnosed with cardiac heart conditions who will have to undergo opretaion and Kijabe Mission Hospital courtesy of Heart Gift foundation.

Garissa Deputy Governor Abdi Dagane said the county government will support the camp and will meet accommodation, meals and transport expenses for the parents, their patients or guardians the children for the operation at Kijabe.
