Victims lawyer Nderitu makes submissions at ICC

By Samuel Musita

The 2007/8 Post Election Violence Victims Legal Representative Wilfred Nderitu makes his oral submissions Friday on the motion of No case to answer by Deputy President William Ruto and his co-accused Joshua arap Sang.

The Prosecution and the defense teams for Ruto and Sang have given their submissions.

The defense argued that the prosecution did not produce any tangible evidence linking their clients to the Post election violence. But the prosecution insisted that it had adduced in court evidence linking Ruto and Sang to the violence.

The submissions will close today and a ruling on the no case to answer motion will be delivered at a later date by the International Criminal Court Trial Chamber Judges led by Judge Chile Osuji – Eboe.

Later today (Friday), the Trial Chamber will hold a status conference for the Ruto/Sang case.
