Vihiga United beat Chemelil Sugar 2-1 in a Kenya Premier League match to increase its chances of survival.
Vihiga now needs 9 points from the available 18 points to avoid relegation.
In a match played at Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega, Vihiga United had to fight back from a goal down to claim the victory.
Chemelil Sugar took the lead in the 37th minute but Vihiga netted two quick fire goals in the second half to enhance their survival chances.
Meanwhile, reigning champions Gor Mahia will be in action on Sunday in one of the six KPL matches.
The league leaders will travel to face Western Stima at Moi stadium in Kisumu.
AFC Leopards on the other hand will host Mathare United at Bukhungu stadium while Zoo Kericho will entertain Sony Sugar at Kericho Green stadium.
Kariobangi Sharks will square it out with Kakamega Homeboyz at Kasarani stadium while Tusker will host Sofapaka at Machakos County stadium.
Posta Rangers will face Bandari in the other match to be played at the Machakos County stadium.
