Waiguru accused of bias in allocation of road resources

Normal activities at Kirinyaga roads and infrastructure headquarters came to a standstill Wednesday morning after angry members of the County Assembly stormed the offices and barricaded the main gates to protest against alleged bias in allocation of County road resources by the governor.

Six MCAs who stormed the headquarters accused the county governor  Anne Waiguru of painting a rosy picture of development being undertaken in the county while nothing was happening in reality.

Led by Njukiini MCA Fredrick Fundi the MCAs accused the county for sidelining their wards in the ongoing upgrading of the roads.

They claimed that they had earmarked Ksh 13 million for each ward to buy road maintenance machines which has not been done.

They said efforts to meet the Governor over the matter have been unsuccessful.

The civic leaders accused Governor Waiguru of allegedly using county resources to reward her friends and discriminate against those who fail to toe her line by denying their wards development.
