Waiguru names running mate for Kirinyaga top office

Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru has named businessman Peter Ndambiri as her running mate for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat.

The contest for the Murang’a gubernatorial seat has attracted several candidates among them former Devolution cabinet secretary Ann Waiguru, former presidential candidate Martha Karua, Kirinyaga central MP Joseph Gitari as well as the incumbent Governor Joseph Ndathi, Waiguru continued with her tour of Kirinyaga County where she unveiled Peter Ndambiri as her running mate ahead of the Jubilee party nominations slated for April.

She pointed out that existing wrangles between the current governor and his deputy have stagnated development in the County, saying she will work closely with Ndambiri for the benefit of Kirinyaga people.

Ndambiri who has now abandoned his quest for the Mwea parliamentary seat said he will traverse the County to mobilize support for Waiguru who faces a tough contest for the Jubilee party ticket against Ndathi and Gitari.
