Waiguru: My ouster from NYS was plot to loot funds



Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru claims that her ouster from the devolution ministry was a grand plan by unscrupulous individuals to loot the national youth service.

Speaking during the scribes end of year party, Waiguru said the fact that more funds were stolen from the service after she exited the cabinet only acts to justify her defense that she was only a whistle blower.

It was one of the most publicized scandals, the theft of 791 million shillings at the national youth service executed through briefcase companies.

The pressure claiming senior government officers including then Devolution Cabinet Secretary Ann Waiguru who was forced to resign from her position with criminal proceedings instituted against those who were said to have been culpable.

It is a chain of events that Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru says were pre-planned with the single aim of forcing her out of government allegedly to make it easier for corrupt officials to engage in graft.

The Kirinyaga governor says the wider plot to loot NYS was actualised soon after her exit from government with the subsequent loss of billions of shillings at the government facility.

Waiguru at the same time lauded journalists for their role in exposing graft even as she called on the media to uphold fidelity to the truth, sentiments echoed by Mvita MP Abdulswad Sharif.
