Wajir hotel to receive global award


A  hotel in Wajir town has been recognised by an international club of traders for quality services.

The Global Trade Leaders’ Club based in Madrid, Spain is set to award  Wajir Palace Hotel with International Hotel and Restaurant Quality Award at a ceremony to be held in Madrid at the end of January.

The hotel formerly known as Wajir Hilton palace, will receive the honours for outstanding establishments and gastronomy.

“I am ready to represent the hotel at the award ceremony,” its Chief Executive Officer, Abdifatah  Athar told the media on Tuesday.

At Castila Hotel in Madrid where the award is set to be made, Spanish authorities and business community will be invited to grace the occasion.

“A work meeting will also be organised to present the awarded firms publicly and promote mutual knowledge as well as establish commercial and professional relationships between businessmen”, the general secretary of the Global Trade Leaders’ Club, Ricardo Rosso Lopez stated.

Abdifatah thanked clients of the hotel, saying any progress and improvements experienced lately at the hotel was largely due to customer feedback, which challenged them to continuously upgrade service.
