The Weatherman says the month of July marks the peak of the cold season especially over the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County.
In a statement, the Director of Meteorological Services, Stella Aura says, on average, the maximum temperatures are expected to range between 20 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius while some areas could see temperatures dip to 3 degrees Celsius.
She is warning that this could see an increase in respiratory diseases like asthma, pneumonia, flu and common colds due to the low temperatures and urged the public to adopt a warm dress code.
She advised the public to avoid using jikos for warming in poorly ventilated houses in order to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
