Slain Kasipul MP Charles Were was shot dead by gunmen in Nairobi

Five suspects linked to the murder of Kasipul Member of Parliament, Charles Ong’ondo Were, will remain in custody as they undergo mental assessments before taking plea.

Two of the suspects, Isaac Kuria and the late MP’s bodyguard, Allan Omondi Ogolla, appeared virtually before Justice Margaret Muigai at the Milimani Law Courts.

The Judge ordered mental evaluations for both men and directed that they be assigned legal representation, either privately or through state support.

Their case will be mentioned on June 18.

Meanwhile, at the Kibera Law Courts, three other suspects—William Imoli Shigali, also known as Imo, Edwin Oduor Odhiambo, alias Muchuani, and Ebel Ochieng, alias Dave Colo—were also arraigned but did not take plea.
