Wetangula confident Senate will pass revenue bill

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has assured Kenyans that the Senate will pass the revenue bill on Monday to enable Counties receive the much needed funds that has delayed services across the nation.

The stalemate over the formula has stalled the passage of the County Allocation of Revenue Bill (CARA), 2020, legislation that outlines how the Sh316.5 billion allocated to the counties in the 2020-21 budget should be shared.

Speaking in Bukhwanga village in Budalangi Constituency during the burial of former Bunyala Central MCA Vincent Mwolo, the Ford Kenya Party leader reiterated the need for all Kenyan citizens to get resources equitably without discrimination.

He asked Members of Parliament to support the country by ensuring prudent use Sh 37.6 Billion allocated for development projects.

However, Budalangi MP Raphael Wanjala said that he supports one ma, one shilling, one vote mantra saying Kenyans should get the share of the national cake based on the size of their respective regions.

Wanjala reiterated that regions with few people should get less resources to allow those with numbers benefit more.
