Woman, daughter found murdered in Nairobi’s South B estate

Police are investigating the murder of a woman and her daughter after their bodies were discovered in a house in Nairobi’s South B estate.

They said, Judy Wanjiku Mwai, 73 and her 47-year-old daughter, Catherine Nyaguthii Mwai, were the only occupants of their house when the incident happened on Sunday at Golden Gate Court.

Their bodies were discovered Monday evening by a relative who had gone to visit them.

Both bodies appear to have been strangled with sisal ropes which were found tied around their necks.

Mrs Mwai is a retiree of the National Treasury while her daughter retired from a local bank. Police said nothing was stolen from the two.

Neighbours told police they last saw the two on Sunday when they were dropped off in the compound by a Toyota Land cruiser.

Elsewhere, the DCI detectives from Parklands on Monday arrested Mr. Allan Andayi Osale- an Accountant at Kericho Law Courts, in connection with two stolen vehicles (Toyota V8s: KBU 933N & KBQ 260Z). The two vehicles were reported stolen from Nippon Korea Investment Ltd Yard in Nyali in 2014.

Detectives established that the two vehicles were among five vehicles that were stolen from Nyali and their Chassis numbers changed.

Further investigations from NTSA  revealed that the real registered number Plates were KBW 122H and KBQ 805T whose chassis numbers had been altered. 

The two motor vehicles were recovered from the residence of the suspect at Syokimau in November 2018 and had been detained at Parklands Police Station as Further enquires into the matter continued.
