Trans Nzoia County Criminal Investigations Officer (CCIO) Francis Kihara confirmed to Kenya News Agency (KNA) police had arrested Ken Muyundu who is accused of firing at Phanice Chemutai Juma.
Muyundu was arrested at his Kitale town home on Friday morning.

The accused, accompanied by his friends, went to the market where he met Ms Chemutai before he instantly opened his firearm and shot at her.
According to the police report revealed the two had previously met and exchanged mobile phone numbers.
“The accused claimed he shot at Chemutai after mistaking her for the runaway rogue police officer, Caroline Kagongo,” stated Kihara.

According to health officers at the facility, Chemutai was out of danger and in stable condition.
The County criminal investigation boss told KNA Muyundu is set to appear before Kitale court where attempted murder charges would be preferred against him.
