Detectives based at Kasarani police station are looking for a woman who last night stabbed a police officer before fleeing into darkness. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations, DCI says the woman attacked the officer, her ex-lover, as he left her house after a failed reconciliation attempt that lasted for about 30 minutes. According to the officer based at Zimmerman police post, his former girlfriend identified as Pamela Njambi, 30, had invited him to her house with an aim of rekindling their relationship, an offer he turned down. “This didn’t appear to have gone down well with the 30-year-old woman who followed the officer discreetly as he left her residence. Upon reaching the gate to the apartment, the woman stabbed the officer with a sharp object before fleeing into darkness,” the DCI says. The officer who was bleeding profusely after suffering a stab wound in the abdomen was later rescued by well wishers who rushed him to St. John’s hospital for treatment. He is currently in stable condition as efforts to arrest the assailant intensify. The DCI is now calling on couples  to seek alternative dispute resolution mechanisms including seeking the intervention of family members, counselors and church leaders instead of resorting to criminal acts whose consequences could be dire. The call coming at a time there has been increased cases of knife attacks between couples.
