Women to receive training on AFC loan facilities



Agricultural Finance Corporation and United Nations Women Kenya is offering financial training to over 8,000 women and youth across the country.

Under the training, the two groups will be sensitized on how to apply and utilize Agricultural Finance Corporation’s financing facilities.

Access to capital has been the main challenge facing the youth and women in agriculture despite women constituting a majority of the agriculture workforce.

To assist women and the youth access capital to venture into agriculture, the Agricultural Finance Corporation and the United Women Kenya chapter have started offering training to women and youth in 44 counties.

This according to officials from the Agricultural Finance Corporation will increase participation of women and youth in the agriculture value chain.

Women and the youth will receive training on Agribusiness, irrigation and cultivation of fast maturing crops to boost food security.

So far, over 500 women and youths from Western, Eastern, Nyanza and parts of Mt. Kenya region have been trained.
