World champion Hellen Obiri to light up Kip Keino Classic

World 5000m Champion Hellen Obiri will be aiming to close her 2020 seaon with a fastest time when she takes to the track Saturday evening at the Kip Keino Classic Continental Tour.

Obiri registered  a world leading  time during her first outing post covid 19 at the Monaco Diamond league in August  in 5000 m, before winding up with another leading time at the Doha Diamond league last month in 3000m.

The olympic silver medalist narrates how the covid 19 affected her dreams of switching to road races after winning the Olympic gold ,but now she has to wait until next year.

Obiri will be competing against fellow Kenyans among them former cross country champion Agnes Tirop ,Joyce Chepkemoi,Sheillah Chepkurui among other and will battle against Tsigiest Gebreselama, and Worntu Farku both from Ethiopia.
