Finnish driver Kalle Rovanpera maintained his lead heading into the last day of the WRC Safari Rally Sunday, after dominating from start to finish on the third day in Naivasha.
Rovanpera is sitting at the top of the rally, 40.3 seconds ahead of Briton Elfyn Evans while Japanese Takamoto Katsuta is third.
Defending champion Frenchman Sebastian Ogier is ranked fourth to complete a quadruple for the Toyota Gazoo Racing team.
Rovanperä was third-fastest on the opening Soysambu test and set a similar pace with his colleagues to be placed sixth at Elementeita.
But when several drivers had car troubles in Sleeping Warrior, the Finn escaped to stay top of the table.
Oliver Solberg was over six minutes down on Ogier and incurred time penalties after stopping to repair his bent suspension on the road section.
Gus Greensmith called it a day when he rolled his Ford on the first stage. Craig Breen sits 7th overall.
WRC2 leader Kajetan Kajetanowicz is eighth overall in a Skoda Fabia Rally2, followed by Jourdan Serderdis.
And with that action Toyota CFAO motors hosted rally fans at the Soysambu stage for a closer viewing of the 2022 WRC Safari Rally.
The Kenyan round,6th leg of the wrc circuit ends Sunday.
