Xi, Fernandez congratulate high-level forum on cultural exchanges

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Argentine President Alberto Fernandez sent congratulatory letters to the China-Argentina High-Level Forum on Cultural Exchanges on Wednesday.

Calling Argentina China’s good friend and partner, Xi in his letter pointed out that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Argentina.

For half a century, China-Argentina relations have endured tests posed by the changing international environment, exemplifying the unity and mutual development between developing countries and emerging economies, Xi said.

Xi added that he hopes the participants at the forum can build a consensus to help write a new chapter in the China-Argentina comprehensive strategic partnership and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for China and Latin America in the new era.

For his part, the Argentine president also noted that he believes the two sides will welcome a more developed community with a shared future.

Fernandez spoke highly of the media cooperation between the two countries. That has promoted mutual understanding between the two peoples, he said. The president added that he looks forward to deepening bilateral cooperation so as to further strengthen the strategic comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
