Youth Innovation Centre to be established in Hola

Plans are in the pipeline for Frontier Counties Development Council to establish a Youth Innovation Centre in Hola Town of Tana River County in order to create online jobs for the youths.

Speaking to the press on Sunday in Hola, the Chief Executive Officer for the Council Mr. Mohammed Guled said the Frontier Counties comprised of ten Counties of Northern Kenya including Tana River County.

Guled said the Council was working together with other government agencies like Kenya School of Government and all Youth Development agencies to create more work thereby reducing cases of unemployment in Kenya.

He said already, the Council has constructed a Youth Innovation Centre in Isiolo County and is operational and the second Youth Innovation Centre would be built in Tana River County.

He also said the Council has established that there are talented youths in Tana River County that can be sharpened with the creation of an Innovation Centre in the area.

Responding to the news, Tana River County governor Major Rtd. Dhadho Godhana urged the Council to speed up construction of the centre.

Governor Godhana said the Centre would reduce cases of Youth engaging in crime as well as cases of early pregnancy for the girls.

He thanked the Council for identifying Tana River County as a beneficiary of the Innovation Centre among the ten Counties in the Council.

He urged the National government to plan and built a University in the County because many students who do well in form four were forced to move out of the County for higher education.
