Kenyan premier league side Kericho Zoo FC is targeting a top 8 finish at the yet to kick off 2020/21 Kenyan premier league season.
Kericho Zoo battled to 14th place finish, just 7 points from relegation enduring a tough run.
Head coach Herman Iswekha who has been at the helm of the Kericho county based team since 2018, is aiming for an improved performance in the coming season.
”when we got to the league in the first two seasons our aim was to feature among the top 8 finishers. If we achieve this, it will boost efforts of growing soccer in Kericho county”. Herman Said.
The side has not seen the departure of any player during the current transfer season.
” we have not lost any player, but am in the process of beefing up the goalkeeping and defence departments” said Herman, who added ‘we had problems with goalkeeping last season and we are hopeful of shoring up competition as well recruit two younger defenders”.
Herman a former Bandari FC, Sony Sugar and defunct Utalii and Brooke bond Fc striker lauded the move by the Kericho county government of renovating the teams’ home ground, Kericho Green stadium.
The 2020/21KPL season commencement is dependent on the resumption of contact sports in the country.
