Bar Next Door on Kiambu Road served up one of its biggest nights in recent memory, drawing hundreds of fans for an evening that mixed live music, expert punditry and Premier League football.
Charisma headlined the entertainment, performing some of his biggest hits, including ‘Sina Noma’ and ‘True Love’ to a crowd that was already charged and ready, while MC Gogo, BV Accurate, and DJ Daffy kept the energy high with their sets.
Content creators Sammyro and Usefulidioty were in attendance, flying the flags for Chelsea and Arsenal, respectively. Their reactions throughout the night were as entertaining as anything happening on the pitch.
On the punditry side, Carol Radull and Lotan Salapei kept the football conversation sharp and entertaining, giving the evening the feel of a live show rather than a bar screening.
Beyond the music and personalities, the match delivered on both ends.
Manchester United opened the night with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace before Arsenal signed off the evening in style, beating Chelsea 2-1 in the headline fixture and sending the crowd into the kind of collective eruption that only a title race can produce.
“Seeing the fans come together to share every roar and every near miss reminded us why we do this,” said Joy Murugi, Brand Manager for Guinness, which hosted the event as the official beer of the Premier League.
With the Premier League season entering its most competitive stretch, if this is what matchday looks like in Nairobi, the next one cannot come soon enough.
