- Send an email to md@kbc.co.ke; info@kbc.co.ke with proof of ownership and the link to the infringing material. Our legal team will issue a formal Take-Down Notice under the Copyright Act.
- Can I use KBC news clips for my personal or commercial project?
- No. All KBC broadcasts are copyrighted. You must apply for a material synchronization license from KBC before using any footage.
- How do independent producers clear music rights for shows submitted to KBC?
- Producers must submit written proof of music clearance. This includes synchronization licenses from the artists or certificates from licensed Collective Management Organisations (CMOs).
1b. Regulatory & Advertising Compliance
- What legal standards must advertisements meet before airing?
- All commercials must comply with the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) Programming Code. Content must be truthful, decent, and free of defamatory or hate speech.
- What are the legal restrictions on betting and gambling advertisements?
- Ads must have a valid Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) permit. They must also have a Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) rating and cannot air during watershed hours (5:00 AM – 10:00 PM).
- How does KBC handle defamation claims regarding news broadcasts?
- Aggrieved parties must serve a formal Demand Letter to the Managing Director. Valid grievances are reviewed for retraction or clarification in line with the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) guidelines.

- How does KBC protect the data of contest participants and whistleblowers?
- We process all personal information according to the Data Protection Act. Data is encrypted, stored securely, and never shared with third parties without explicit consent.

- Submit a written request citing Section 5 of the Access to Information Act. Address it directly to the Managing Director at Broadcasting House, Nairobi.

- They are listed on our official website frequency map. You can also listen to our vernacular radio stations via regional FM transmitters.
- Why is my TV signal weak or missing?
- Weather or antenna misalignment usually causes this. Run an “Automatic Rescan” on your free-to-air Signet STB or pay-TV decoder.
- Is KBC available on DStv and GOtv?
- Yes. KBC Channel 1 is available on DStv (Channel 275), GOtv (Channel 91), StarTimes, and all free-to-air decoders.

Job vacancies are advertised on the Corporation’s official website and other authorized platforms. Interested candidates should follow the application instructions provided in the respective advertisement.

Candidates may only apply for advertised positions through the prescribed application process, unless otherwise stated.

We advertise our industrial attachment intake twice a year on our corporate portal. Applicants must submit a university reference letter.

There is no single universal number of days for every procurement. The procuring entity should communicate the outcome after evaluation and the necessary approvals have been completed.
For an open tender, a practical sequence can therefore be:
Advertisement → 21+ days → Tender opening → Evaluation → Professional Opinion → Tender Committee approval → Notification → 14-day standstill → Contract signing.
