In what is seen as an emergency crisis meeting, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe, has convened a meeting with the Executive Committee members on Friday, 13th February 2026, in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

Motsepe hinted at his intent of convening the meeting immediately after the CAF disciplinary committee gave its ruling on the fiasco which was witnessed during the African Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco on the 18th of last month.

The final was stopped for about 15 minutes after the Senegalese players stormed out of the field protesting the last-minute penalty awarded to Morocco.

Many football stakeholders expected a tougher disciplinary action for players and officials culpable to save the image of the game, but the ruling fell way too low beyond expectations.

The CAF EXCO in Tanzania will deliberate on several matters among them East Africa’s hosting of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda next year.
