President William Ruto says KANU Chairman Gideon Moi has agreed to collaborate with him under a broad-based government arrangement aimed at uniting Kenyans and accelerating national transformation.

Ruto made the announcement following a meeting with Moi and KANU grassroots delegates at Kabarak, Nakuru County, on Friday, two days after holding similar talks at State House, Nairobi.

The President explained that his decision to engage with Moi and KANU was driven by his commitment to bring all Kenyans together for the country’s development agenda.

“I reached out to Moi because I want to unite all Kenyans and rally the country towards a national transformation agenda,” said the President, urging KANU members to embrace formal cooperation with the government.

Dr Ruto stressed that the partnership is focused on national interest rather than political affiliations or personal interests.

“This is not about individuals, regions, or parochial interests. This is about Kenya,” he asserted.

He further noted that Kenya requires “more hands and broader goodwill” to achieve the transformation agenda, highlighting that his administration has stabilised the economy and is now implementing previously stalled projects.

On his part, Gideon Moi disclosed that his decision to collaborate with the government was motivated by a desire to complete key development projects in Baringo County and other regions of the country.

“My focus is on transforming lives and ensuring pending projects are completed,” said the KANU leader.

KANU Secretary-General George Wainaina confirmed the party’s readiness to work with President Ruto’s administration, while Kilgoris MP Julius Sunkuli praised Mr Moi for his courageous move to support national unity.

President Ruto also urged leaders to draw inspiration from countries like Singapore and South Korea, which have achieved rapid development through visionary leadership and unity of purpose.

“We must ask ourselves what they did right and what we got wrong,” he said, calling for collective action to propel Kenya towards prosperity.
