Sadio Mane’s late 2nd-half strike from outside the box was enough as Senegal beat Egypt 1-0 in the 2025 AFCON semi-final played at the Grand Stade Ibn Batouta in Tangier to book their ticket in Sunday’s final for the first time since 2021.

The Lions of Teranga, who enjoyed about 70% possession, showed intent from the onset, with the AFCON record holders being forced to defend for the better part of the game.

In what was the repeat of the 2021 final, when Senegal won their first title, Senegal continued with their dominance over the encounter, as they have now won 11 of the 12 past encounters.
