President William Ruto has arrived in Mombasa to preside over the 23rd Commonwealth Heads of Prosecuting Agencies Conference (HOPAC).

The head of state was received by Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Nassir and the Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Ingonga.

The conference which serves as a platform for dialogue to boost international cooperation on prosecution services, brings together 19 Heads of Prosecuting agencies from across the Commonwealth including representatives from the United Kingdom, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, Wales and Antigua and Barbuda.

Several African countries including, Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Mozambiques, Seychelles, the Kingdom of Morocco and Azerbijan are also represented at the conference.

This year’s confernce theme is; “Building Partnerships through International Cooperation in the Fight Against Money Laundering, Terrorism, Terrorism Financing and Transnational Crimes.”
