Graduates of UK universities have been invited to a unique career and networking event taking place in Nairobi on Tuesday, 10 September 2024.

The United Kingdom, a leading destination for Kenyan students seeking higher education and international experiences.

The event which follows on from similar events held in Ghana and Nigeria, brings together UK Alumni, UK universities and local industry leaders to network and gain knowledge on local trends and opportunities.

The event is coordinated by educational consultancy Graduate Guidance Group and made possible through sponsorship from UK institutions.

The British Council is an event partner. The British Council provides information on the UK as a study destination, through a network of Agents and Counsellors; informs students of scholarship opportunities to study in the UK; and facilitates engagement, resources for career development and new opportunities for Kenyan alumni from UK institutions via the UK Alumni network.

Tom Porter, British Council Kenya Country Director said, “Every year thousands of Kenyans choose to study in the UK due to the quality of its higher education. We engage prospective students through our network of UK certified agents and counsellors. Through regular events like this one today, together with the British High Commission, we support networking and career development for many Kenyan alumni who have studied in the UK. Studying in the UK – and in particular the range of scholarships available such as the GREAT, Commonwealth and Chevening Scholarships – are making a difference to Kenya’s youth and continuing to strengthen the UK-Kenya partnership. I am delighted that the British Council is supporting the Graduate Guidance Group’s event today.”
