Nairobi, Beijing to fast-track implementation of Joint Vision for Kenya-China Partnership

A Nairobi-based Chinese envoy on Friday held talks with a top official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take stock of Sino-Kenya ties and explore future avenues for cooperation.

The meeting between the Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy in Kenya Zhang Zhizhong and Maurice Okoth, the Director of Asia and the Pacific Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs ended with a resolution to implement the Joint Vision for Kenya-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

“The discussions centered on the existing cordial bilateral relations between the Republic of Kenya and the People’s Republic of China, founded on strong bonds and shared values lasting over 60 years,” a statement from Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs noted

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations, the relationship has grown by bounds and leaps and Nairobi and Beijing are hopeful that the friendship will continue to advance through shared prosperity and mutual understanding.

The Ministry further expressed commitment to continue working closely with the Embassy to strengthen cooperation between Kenya and China for the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.
