Eleven suspects have been arrested in connection with the discovery of bodies from shallow graves in Kwa Binzaro village, Kilifi County.
Coast Regional Commissioner Rhoda Onyancha, who is leading the operation, said those arrested include the woman believed to be at the center of the suspected cult activities.
Onyancha said investigations are ongoing to establish who sold the land to the woman, because it is part of Chakama Ranch.
Onyancha also said preliminary investigations suggest that some of the victims were previously rescued during the Shakahola operation, but returned to the area possibly due to rejection by their families or communities.
