Defending 1500m World champion Faith Kipyegon led all three other Kenyans to sail through to the semi-final on day 1 of the 20th edition of the global showpiece in Tokyo, Japan, on Saturday afternoon.
Kipyegon won heat 4 in 4:02.55, while Nelly Chepchirchir also emerged victorious in heat 2, clocking 4 minutes 7.01 seconds.
Dorcas Ewoi of Kenya, who is making a debut at the global championships, also made it to the semi-final after finishing 4th in heat 1 in 4:04.99, while Susan Ejore also made it to the semi-final, finishing 3rd in heat 3 in a time of 4:01.99.
The semi-finals are set for Sunday evening ahead of next Tuesdays final.
