Live: Raila Odinga’s internment service underway

The interment service for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is underway at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology in Bondo.

The service is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. led by President William Ruto. The ceremony will also bring together family, friends, political leaders, and citizens from across the nation to honour the late statesman’s life and legacy.

Following the service, Raila will be laid to rest near his late father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, at the Kang’o ka Jaramogi homestead, where final prayers and military honours will be conducted.

His burial marks the end of a remarkable era in Kenya’s political history.

Raila Odinga passed away on Wednesday at the age of 80 in India. He leaves behind an enduring legacy as one of the country’s most influential leaders, revered for his courage, resilience, and lifelong dedication to the people of Kenya.
