Harambee Starlets, landed tough opponents in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Senegal and Algeria in the group stage of the 2026 Women’s African Cup of nations (WAFCON), which will used as a qualifier for next yera’s FIFA World Cup.
The draw conducted on Thursday in Rabat will see Kenya, led by coach Beldine Oemba, open their campaign on March 17th against Morocco before taking on Senegal and Algeria.
South Africa will have to navigate through Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Tanzania in Group B.
Defending champions Nigeria are in group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and Malawi, while Ghana, Mali, Cape Verde and Cameroon make up group D.
Group A will play their matches at the Moulay Hassan stadium, while Group B will be stationed at the Al Madina stadium.
Group C fixtures will be staged in Casablanca, as Group D will play at the Fes Sports Complex.
The final will be played on 3rd April, with the top 4 nations qualifying for the 2027 FIFA World Cup.
Kenya is making a return to the tournament for the first time since 2016.
