Absa Bank Kenya has opened a new branch in Kawangware as it moves to expand its footprint in Nairobi’s satellite towns while targeting individuals and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The new outlet, located at Soko Safi Mall, becomes the bank’s 87th branch and is positioned to serve the dynamic and enterprising communities of Kawangware, Dagoretti, Kikuyu, and surrounding areas.

It features a full-service banking hall, a 24-hour ATM and cash deposit machine, and is supported by mobile and agency banking services.

Speaking during the launch, Absa Bank Kenya Managing Director and CEO Abdi Mohamed said the decision to set up in Kawangware reaffirms its commitment to supporting individuals and businesses in key growth corridors.

“Kawangware is a strategic gateway into Nairobi home to hardworking individuals, small businesses, and families who embody the spirit of enterprise. This branch represents our promise to walk with this community, offering not just banking services, but the knowledge, and partnerships that help people thrive,” he said.

The bank has also flagged off a financial literacy caravan to empower local businesses and residents with relevant tools, knowledge, and solutions tailored to their needs.

Absa Kenya’s Consumer Banking Director, Moses Muthui, noted that the new branch complements ongoing efforts to bring financial services closer to customers in their day-to-day environments.

“This is our way of taking banking closer to our customers and supporting them to make smart financial choices. Whether it’s opening the right business or personal account, using our Visa cards, arranging insurance, saving as a chama through Uwezo, or financing their needs. This presence reflects the belief that every Kenyan deserves the right solutions and a partner who truly understands their journey. We are proud to be part of Kawangware’s story,” he stated.
