Athletics Kenya has cancelled the World Indoor Trials, which were scheduled for this weekend, the 30th and 31st, in Nairobi.

AK cited unavoidable circumstances as the reason for cancelling the planned two-day trials.

Instead the selection of the athletes who will represent Kenya at the World Indoor Athletics Championship slated between March 20 and 22 this year in Poland, will be done by a panel of technical officials based on the time and merit upon the end of the qualification period on 8th March.

The federation has called on athletes to continue with their training programmes in preparation for the championships.

Kenya will field athletes in six events: 60m men, 60m hurdles men, 400m men and women, 800m men and women, 1500m men and women and 3000m men and women.

Kenya ended without a podium finish at the 2025 World Indoor Athletics Championships in Nanjing, China.
