The long-awaited National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) elections will now be held on the 19th of next month.
According to a statement issued by the NOCK secretariat yesterday, the 13 elected posts up for grabs include president, first vice president, second vice president, secretary general, deputy secretary general, treasurer, and deputy treasurer,3 executive committee members, a woman rep, and two athlete reps (male and female).
The election, which was the main agenda for the 24th April AGM, was postponed after four federations failed to agree on their voting members.
Outgoing President Dr. Paul Tergat will not contest his seat, having served a maximum of two terms in office.
Current Secretary General Francis Mutuku and incumbent First Vice President Shadrack Maluki are vying to succeed Tergat.
NOCK Executive Committee member Barnaba Korir, is vying for the 1st Vice President against Boxing Federation President Anthony Ombok, aka Jamal, while the Secretary General position has attracted Andrew Mudibo, who will be competing against John Ogola.
Officials who will be elected will serve for a period of four years.
