The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has changed the player registration regulations for the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup to allow football clubs to register a player for the CAF Champions League or the CAF Confederation Cup who has participated in either of these CAF competitions for another football club within the same football season.

These Player Registration Regulations have been changed to make the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup Regulations more like those of the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League.

The CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup will become more enticing to football fans, television viewers, advertisers, and partners in Africa and around the world as a result of the changes to these regulations.

These modifications might also raise the calibre of African football teams competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in the US in June and July of that year.

Additionally, the CAF EXCO adopted a resolution extending the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup Player Registration deadline to February 28, 2025.
