The Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) has suspended its Executive Director, Auka Gecheo, with immediate effect.
It is understood the Executive Committee, led by the acting president Alexandre Muyenge, which met virtually on the 18th of this month, unanimously resolved to suspend Auka from his role as the Executive Director.
CECAFA EXCO, however, didn’t reveal the reason behind the move, but it’s understood another Kenyan is set to take up the role.
Auka has served in the position since his appointment in July 2020, when he took over from Nicholas Musonye, who was the Secretary General.
