Cyprian Bundi and Purity Githui  win NCBA golf series leg  at Nanyuki

Cyprian Bundi and Purity Githui emerged overall winners of the NCBA golf series leg held at Nanyuki Sports Club Golf Course.

Bundi alongside Purity as well as  Division 1 winner Gabriel Miungi, Division 2 winner Mugiiira Muthuri, Division 3 winner Gatheru Wachira, and Junior winner Robin Bebbington (Jnr) all clinched spots at the season ending grand finale which will be played on November 28 at Muthaiga Golf Club.

Bundi delivered a remarkable round, carding 70 gross to claim the Men’s Gross Winner title, while Githui impressed with a score of 87 gross to take home the Lady Gross Winner honors.

In the nett categories, Gabriel Miungi claimed the Division One (Handicap 0–12) title with 36 points, edging out stiff competition, while Mugiiira Muthuri topped Division Two (Handicap 13–24) with 41 points. Jennifer Kariuki secured the Ladies’ Division II crown with 27 points.

The Division III (Handicap 25+) category saw a tight contest, with Henry Kamotho carding 35 points to secure the win.

In the junior ranks, Robin Bebbington impressed with 27 points, while Kenneth Sawe was named Guest Winner on 36 points. Jesse Masiga emerged as Staff Winner with 21 points.

Meanwhile, Mercy Wanjira won the Longest Drive for Ladies, while Robin Bebbington claimed the Men’s Longest Drive. Jennifer Kariuki and Umraj Sehmi triumphed in the Nearest to Pin contests for Ladies and Men, respectively.

Speaking after the tournament, Nanyuki Sports Club Chairman Joseph Mwangi lauded the event’s success: “We are delighted with how today’s leg unfolded. The turnout, the competition, and the spirit of the game all show how much this series means to our golfers. We are proud to host this qualifier and grateful to NCBA for their continued support of golf at this level. For our winners, this is just the beginning, and we look forward to seeing them represent Nanyuki strongly at the Grand Finale.”

James Gossip, NCBA Bank Kenya Managing Director, also celebrated the success of the event, highlighting NCBA’s commitment to supporting golf and community engagement:

The next leg of the series is set to be held at Kericho Golf Club next weekend.
