The government has disbursed Ksh850.7 million to 425,348 households under the Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CT-OVC) Programme.
Gender, Culture and Children Services Cabinet Secretary Hanna Wendot Cheptumo said the funds cover the July 2026 payment, with each beneficiary household receiving Ksh2,000.
The CS said the payment commenced on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, through the contracted Payment Service Provider.
“The Ministry, through the State Department for Children Services, has disbursed a total of Eight Hundred and Fifty Million, Six Hundred and Ninety-Six Thousand Shillings (Ksh850,696,000) to 425,348 beneficiaries under the Cash Transfer for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CT-OVC) Programme, which is part of the Inua Jamii initiative. This disbursement covers the July 2026 payment, and each beneficiary household is receiving KSh2,000. Payment commenced yesterday, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, through the contracted Payment Service Provider,” Cheptumo stated.
The latest funds will help beneficiary households meet essential needs and improve the well-being of children living in vulnerable circumstances.
The CT-OVC programme, implemented by the State Department for Children Services, is part of the government’s wider social protection measures for vulnerable families.
