The presidential awards Heroes and Heroines in collaboration with other development partners have pledged to work closely with the National heroes council to champion for women economic empowerment and peace building across the country.
Speaking during a courtesy call to the National heroes council Chief Executive Officer Charles Wambia at his office in Nairobi, the presidential awards and development partners said women empowerment is critical especially for women in conflict areas as they are key drivers of peace building for Sustainable development.

They noted that women often bring unique perspectives and priorities to the table and their inclusion will help ensure that lasting peace and development is sustained.
During a courtesy call, Jackie Angwenyi, who was awarded the Global Humanitarian Award from Civility Voice Diplomats and Humanitarian Organization, and the National Heroes Council Chief Executive Officer Charles Wambia said this will involve various strategies, including women’s economic empowerment and peacebuilding initiatives across the country.
