Over 2,000 people from the informal settlements of Kangemi,Kawangware and Kibagare turned up on Sunday to receive food donations from the Ananda Marga Mission .
Mothers with their children and men persevered chilly Sunday morning to receive flour, vegetable, milk and bread from the Nairobi’s mountain view estate where the mission conducts the food donation programme every Sunday since 2018.
According to the chairman of the foundation Dinesh Kumar, they intend to spread the programme to Nanyuki,Kiambu and Embu.
“Besides this food distribution programme which we conduct every Sunday at Mountain View, we also do school feeding programmes to over 1400 children daily and we have plans to reach a maximum number of beneficiaries.
So far we are providing services to Kikukyu,Kangemi,Githurai and Kawangware and we would love to reach to people in Mlolongo,Embu,Nanyuki and Kantafu in the future.”said Kumar
The mission also houses over 3,000 orphans in various parts of the country.
