Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has unveiled a fresh identity for his political outfit, rebranding the Wiper Democratic Movement as the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF). He says the rebrand aims to make the party more responsive to the aspirations of the Kenyan people, particularly the youth.

“Political parties are not static; they should be responsive to the people. By becoming the Patriotic Front, we acknowledge our responsibility to rescue and reclaim our beloved nation. This informs our slogan,” Kalonzo said.

While expressing gratitude to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties for facilitating the transition process, Kalonzo revealed that the Wiper Patriotic Front will actively prepare for the 2027 General Elections and plans to field candidates for all elective positions.

“We will make further announcements, including news about the winning coalition. Know that the Wiper Patriotic Front will field candidates for all electoral offices, including MCAs, MPs, Governors, and Senators,in the upcoming 2027 General Elections,” he stated.

Describing the WPF as “the party of the future,” Kalonzo positioned the revamped outfit as a natural home for young Kenyans, particularly Gen Z, whom he referred to as the driving force of a new patriotic movement.

“This is the party of the future – the party of the youth. Our new party takes into account the patriotic spirit of the Gen Zs. We are open to receiving new members as we expand the space and make it a truly national patriotic movement,” he said.

Kalonzo was accompanied by senior party officials and allies, including Secretary General Senator Shakila Abdalla, Deputy Secretary General and Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, Kitui Rural MP David Mwalika Mboni, Advocate Ndegwa Njiru, and young party leaders Nixon Virundu and Mercy Mawia, as well as several MCAs and grassroots members.
