Kenyan teacher nominated for the 2023 Global Teacher Prize

Millicent was selected from over 7,000 nominees and applicants from over 130 countries globally

Kenyan teacher Millicent Cassianes has been nominated for the 2023 prestigious Varkey Foundation Global Teacher Prize.

The Kenyan teacher was selected from over 7,000 nominees and applicants from over 130 countries globally.

Cassianes, who teaches at the BL Tezza Special School for the Deaf in Karunga, Migori County told KBC Channel One that she will use the newfound platform to continue to push for the education and protection of special needs children.

The Global Teacher Prize is organized in collaboration with UNESCO and in partnership with Dubai Cares, a global philanthropic organization based in the United Arab Emirates.
