The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is set to welcome over 20,000 participants from 140 countries and territories for its 2025 edition, reaffirming its status as a leading global platform for economic dialogue in a rapidly changing geopolitical and geo-economic landscape.

Scheduled for 18–21 June 2025, SPIEF will bring together heads of state, industry leaders, policymakers, and youth representatives to engage in over 150 sessions on topics such as economic diversification, global cooperation, digital innovation, and sustainable development.

“SPIEF continues to serve as a vital space for finding practical, forward-looking solutions,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee. “The forum is where new ideas are forged to address the evolving global environment.”

This year’s theme, “Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World,” underscores the forum’s focus on inclusive development, respect for cultural diversity, and balanced economic cooperation. Key topics will include economic sovereignty, resilience against sanctions, national financial systems, and reform of global economic institutions.

The business programme for SPIEF 2025 is structured around five strategic tracks:

Global Economy: Shaping new trade routes and rethinking global economic institutions in a multipolar order.

Russian Economy: Emphasising diversification, support for SMEs, and digital financial tools such as the digital rouble.

Human Capital: Addressing social transformation through education, healthcare, and digitalized services.

Environment & Sustainability: Exploring green energy, climate action, and sustainable urban ecosystems.

Technology Leadership: Highlighting breakthroughs in AI, quantum computing, and biotechnology.

High-level events during the forum will include summits by BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), alongside the SME Forum, the Creative Industries Forum, and a General Assembly of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA).

SPIEF 2025 is also expected to showcase the rising influence of young leaders through the Day of the Future International Youth Economic Forum, supported by the UN ECOSOC-accredited network Friends for Leadership. Youth delegates from over 100 countries will participate in this session, which aims to cultivate the next generation of global economic thinkers.

A major highlight this year will be the 19 international business dialogues, focusing on strengthening economic ties, building alternative payment systems, and creating resilient global trade routes with partner countries.
