The 8th African Nations Championship will enter day 3 today, with focus shifting to two group C matches set for Nelson Mandela Stadium (Namboole) in Kampala, Uganda.
The Menas of Niger will battle Guinea from 5pm before paving the way for the hosts, the Uganda Cranes, who will take on North African heavyweights, the Desert Foxes of Algeria, from 8pm.
After co-hosts Tanzania and Kenya won their opening matches, Uganda will be under pressure to start on a winning note against the Algerians.
Uganda and Algeria have met once in the CHAN with the Desert Foxes winning 2-0 in Sudan in 2011.
South Africa’s Bafana Bafana who are also in group C touched down in Kampala on Sunday ahead of their opening match on 8th this month against Algeria.
