The shareholders of Vipingo Ridge Limited have approved the procedural removal of Mr. Alastair Cavenagh from his position as a Board member and director of the company.
The decision was reached following a shareholders meeting which the company says complies with the company’s corporate governance policy, national company laws, and the commitment to uphold the integrity and values of Vipingo Ridge.
While confirming the shareholders’ decision, Vipingo Ridge Board Chairman Mr. Trevor Finn expressed the company’s appreciation for Mr. Cavenagh’s service.
Mr. Finn stated that the premier lifestyle and golfing development located in Kilifi County on the Kenyan Coast is intensifying its corporate development and governance initiatives.
“As part of the Vipingo Ridge corporate growth strategy, plans are underway to enhance our service offering and expand amenities while continuing to modernize operations. Our talent development and focus on balancing the needs of our stakeholders remain key to the growth of Vipingo Ridge. We are also enhancing our community relations alongside ongoing environmental conservation and sustainability efforts, “said Mr. Finn remarked.
Despite his removal as Director, Cavenagh, a former rally driver, remains a shareholder in the company.
Vipingo Ridge is home to the region’s first PGA-branded 18-hole championship golf course.
