Cristian Chivu has been appointed as Inter Milan’s new coach after the Serie A club confirmed on Monday the former Romania defender as Simone Inzaghi’s replacement.
The 44-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Inter, where he won three Serie A titles and the 2010 Champions League as a player, after saving Parma from relegation in his first senior coaching job.
Inzaghi left Inter on Tuesday, four years to the day since his appointment and three days after his side suffered a 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final to end the season trophy-less, and was named coach of Al Hilal a day later.
