Diani Beach came alive as Kenya’s Afro house collective Gondwana celebrated a remarkable milestone with their “8 Years of Dwana” festival.

Gondwana, founded by DJ Suraj and Euggy, has spent nearly a decade establishing itself as the pillar of Kenya’s Afro house movement.

The event featured an impressive line-up of talent that included South African house music icon Zakes Bantwini, Gondwana founders Suraj and Euggy, Soulfud, Aahil and other talents who kept the energy high.

“We are delighted to embark on this collaboration that aligns our vision of celebrating culture and community with Gondwana’s leadership in Africa’s music scene,” said Victoria Mbugua, Brand Manager for Don Julio, which partnered with the event. “‘8 Years of Dwana’ marks the starting point and we’re committed to deepening this partnership through future Gondwana events throughout the year.”

What makes Gondwana special in Kenya’s music landscape is their commitment to authenticity. Gondwana has consistently championed Afro house, creating a community that celebrates African electronic music in its purest form.

The 8 Years of Dwana Festival not only highlighted Gondwana’s impact on Kenya’s electronic music scene but signals their continued growth.
